were continued to be made until the war ended.

here is the mustang p-51D some say it was the best

American fighter plane in WWII. it had 2 belly tanks which gave it a couple hundred more miles of flight.

here is the tiger shark p-40B; if you didn't notice, it got a new paint job from the last time we posted about it. While pearl harbor was being attacked, the Americans had little time or opportunity to take to the air and fight back. some were shot down while taking off. however, two aviators that had two tiger sharks away from the battle scene took off and took several planes down. they would've gotten medals, but they didn't because they acted without orders.

here is the corsair F4U-l . it was a maritime attack plane that was carrier based. It could carry torpedoes to destroy enemy ships. its top speed was over 400 mph and its performance even exceeded the famed mustang in many ways.
here is the super marine spitfire mark II. this plane was the best of the British fighters. The mark II's arch-rival in air was the Messerschmitt 109.

here is the heinkel He 111h bomber. It could carry 2 torpedoes on its belly or 2 bombs. It had 2 junkers jumo 1,200 hp engines, one top turret gunner and one belly gunner, and even a nose gunner. this medium bomber was a good match up for any single engine fighter plane like the mark II and the hurricane.

As you know in Andrew's previous post about working for Mr.Rhode, he gave us models in return. So here are some pictures and a little description of Andrew's and my models he has given us in the past week. If you were wondering what the 'p' stood for in 'p-51D', it stands for pursuit.
