Models

here is the A6M2 zero type 21 this plane
was seen over pearl harbor. versions of the zero
were continued to be made until the war ended.
10,449 were built.

here is the mustang p-51D some say it was the best

American fighter plane in WWII. it had 2 belly tanks which gave it a couple hundred more miles of flight.

here is the tiger shark p-40B; if you didn't notice, it got a new paint job from the last time we posted about it. While pearl harbor was being attacked, the Americans had little time or opportunity to take to the air and fight back. some were shot down while taking off. however, two aviators that had two tiger sharks away from the battle scene took off and took several planes down. they would've gotten medals, but they didn't because they acted without orders.

here is the corsair F4U-l . it was a maritime attack plane that was carrier based. It could carry torpedoes to destroy enemy ships. its top speed was over 400 mph and its performance even exceeded the famed mustang in many ways.
here is the super marine spitfire mark II. this plane was the best of the British fighters. The mark II's arch-rival in air was the Messerschmitt 109.

here is the heinkel He 111h bomber. It could carry 2 torpedoes on its belly or 2 bombs. It had 2 junkers jumo 1,200 hp engines, one top turret gunner and one belly gunner, and even a nose gunner. this medium bomber was a good match up for any single engine fighter plane like the mark II and the hurricane.

here are the planes all together. sorry about Andrew's arm. we couldn't fit all of them on the table.

As you know in Andrew's previous post about working for Mr.Rhode, he gave us models in return. So here are some pictures and a little description of Andrew's and my models he has given us in the past week. If you were wondering what the 'p' stood for in 'p-51D', it stands for pursuit.

who needs a four wheeler??????

The fun all started at our old David City house when our neighbors gave us a little tykes add on trailer to a bigger wagon. I don't know how I got the idea for my chariot as I call it, but I'm glad I had that idea. Now I did make a few successful runs with Sammy as my propellant at the old house. I remember one run that I ran into our fence post while our neighbors were sitting on their front porch!!!! The chariot sat forgotten in the garage for awhile until a few months ago, I got it out and tried it. Today I wanted to have some fun with shmozen (my nickname for Sammy) So I got out the harness and the power wagon (another name for my chariot) and made a few runs when Annie came out to do her chores. I asked her to get the camera so she could take a few pictures of me and my power wagon. So we did, and then I suggested we use a old camera stand in the garage. So we drug it out and used it in our filming. With Annie as the photographer and me at the cariot seat and Andrew at the end calling samson, we took some great pictures and a video you have to view at the bottom of the page because I coudn't put on the post you HAVE to see it!!!

new lego ship

here is the new lego ship
here is the cannons
here are the sails that are made out of old cammo
pants! :>)
here is the back part with the swivel gun
here is the captain

Since I last posted about my Lego ship, I had built a smaller, second one. The other night, Andrew and I wanted to know how many pieces were in our ship. So we took them apart and counted the pieces, and mine was around 250+ pieces. Andrew's had 585 pieces in his!! While I was rebuilding my ship, I stopped and thought maybe I could combine my two ships into one big one. The new ship has 33 guns on it, and Andrew only has 22! I'm not sure how many pieces are in my new ship because I didn't count. Here are some pictures of my new Lego ship.

the latest in doggy wear!

A few days ago, Andrew and I dressed up Dexter in some of our old clothes. It looked hilarious! here is a picture of it. You can just see it in Dexter's eyes, 'once I tear these clothes of, I'm going to tear those boys up!'

Jenga game

Today, Andrew and I decided to play jenga; a really dumb game. The object of this game is to stack the blocks in a speacial way then take them out one by one and put them on top so the tower gets taller. When it falls over, it's a great surprise and makes you jump. I knocked the tower over, therfore, Andrew won the game. Here is a picture of us playing jenga.

lego ship

here are the soldiers they are transporting
Today I built a Lego ship and here some pictures I took of it. I do not have a sail for it, but I want to make one out of cloth.
