Mortimer
Pelops
Mortimer relaxing after the races
the tracks
one day a while ago, I found two toads, so I called Andrew out and we raced toads. we had two tracks, a short 3 ft dash, and a 8 ft dash. my toad Mortimer was good at the short dash, and andrews toad, Pelops, was good at the long dash. sorry I didnt get in pictures of toads in action, we got the camera just as we were done. but I will have more pictures coming, be cause I have a FAT FAST racer, Jake McToad.

Again, aren't toads fun?!? I wish I'd had a toad to enter in your competitions! :)
hi abutton,
yeah, well jake mctoad died, so i found a teenie weenie one smaller than your thumb! well gtg-E
Oh no!! That's too bad about Jake McToad. :( How did he die? Is the teenie weenie one really fast?
from my experiance, teenie weenie toads are the fastest...although not so funny looking. I can never seem to catch the little ones as easily.
Do you have to warm up your toads before a race...some sort of practice race??
Audrey,
well, I only found jake and no others, and you cant race one toad, so i put him in a metal bucket with holes in it. but when i got him out again he was all stiff and not moving but still alive, so i let him go and i think he died on his own. well i had the teenie weenie one in my hand when i was over at our neighbors and he jumped out of my hand and jumped thru the cracks in thier porch.
merrill,
no i have no method of warmups for the toads, but the practice run sounds good. i really want to race toads with you guys! well gtg -E
Ev--
This morning when I was out feeding, a little frog jumped out of one of the puddles by the pens (we got 1.3" Sunday night). He was really fast and made me think of your toad races. I think frogs beat toads any day. Longer, thinner legs. They're really quick swimmers, too. :D
yeh, i like frogs better than toads, but toads are easier to catch and are a lot more abundant. we have a big puddle that has some frogs in it, but i havnt cought any yet. -E
FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
I wish I could have been there!!
